Meet the Founder

Founder & Creator
I created BLKN'D because I realized just how much of our history many of us were never fully taught. As I continued learning more for myself, I started thinking deeply about my children, future generations, and how easy it is for important stories to be forgotten, minimized, or erased when we don't intentionally preserve them.
As a Black mother, this became personal for me.
I wanted to create a space where Black history could be explored every single day — not just during Black History Month. A place where kids, adults, families, educators, and lifelong learners could discover powerful stories, inventors, leaders, civilizations, and contributions in a way that feels engaging, accessible, and meaningful.
What started as an idea quickly became a mission. BLKN'D is more than just an app to me — it's a growing digital learning platform built to help preserve our history, spark curiosity, encourage conversations, and reconnect people to stories that deserve to be remembered and celebrated.
